About Therapy

2082958432Let’s change your life for the better.

You’re here because you want to dive in and create lasting change.

I’m here because I’m passionate about helping folks like you improve their lives.

I invite you to come on in and be authentically you.

There’s no judgment on my end. I’ll listen carefully as we piece together how you got to where you are now and navigate where you want to go next.

Getting your mind’s “parts” to work together in harmony…

That inner critic that won’t get off your back?

That part that wants to move to another country and start over?

The one that numbs out with social media, food, or drinking… we’ll befriend them all. We’ll learn about their concerns, motives, and why they do what they do.

You’ll have great insight and appreciation for all your mind’s parts in time. We’ll work to get them performing in harmony, like an orchestra, instead of the endless brawl they seem to be in.

2162222001I can’t promise it will always be easy.

There’s no quick-and-easy, three-step process to healing. The healing process is not linear; it’s messy.

There’s no set timeline, and that’s okay. I’m here for you every step of the way.

But that doesn’t mean your journey will be completely directionless or haphazard!

I’ll provide a flexible framework tailored to your needs and set at your pace.

You’ll face challenges, but I’ll be there to face them with you, offering you unconditional positive regard, respect, and authenticity.

We will also laugh. Humor is good medicine!

You’re welcome here… just as you are.

Most people are nervous to begin therapy – to share their lives with a stranger. I think you’ll find that I won’t feel like a stranger for long.

All good relationships require boundaries, including the client-therapist relationship. I will make sure to honor our boundaries without becoming cold and clinical. I’m here for you as a warm human and may even feel like a friend.

I don’t care if you sit cross-legged on my couch or lie on the floor. Just come as you are. I’ll even make you a cup of tea!

So give me a call, shoot me a text, or email me!

You’re ready to understand your mind, feel better, and heal.

I’m happy to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to get to know each other better and address any questions or concerns you may have.

Call or text me at (316) 712-1603.

About Me

HeadshotI have the best job in the world!

That’s because I’ve always loved learning about people. One of my strongest values is connection. It doesn’t matter how alike or different we are. We all have unique stories, and I’m here to hear yours.

It’s funny, though – I didn’t always know I wanted to be a therapist. In fact, it wasn’t until a year after grad school that I decided to pursue the clinical route.

But I think I’ve always had the heart of a therapist, so it was just a matter of time before I decided on that path. It all unfolded the way it was supposed to.

Some of my background…

I did my undergraduate work at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. I then moved to Chicago to complete a year of volunteer service with AmeriCorps.

After that, I got married and moved to Wichita! I continued working in the social services field, earning my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Kansas.

Two weeks later, we moved to rural Oklahoma, where I spent four years working as a therapist in community mental health.

We moved back to Wichita a few years later, and I started my private practice shortly after!

When I’m not in the office…

I love spending time with my husband and kiddos. Quality time is my love language. 🙂

We have an ancient chocolate lab named Atticus Finch (Gooby), a younger boxer mix named Ben Kenobi (Benny), and several saltwater fish and critters.

My favorite activities are listening to audiobooks, sipping tea, trying new food, and going for walks.
